Diamond Working With CHEP on Building More Sustainable Supply Chains

“CHEP’s circular model of containers and pallets power the global supply chain, bringing several efficiencies and environmental benefits to businesses in comparison to linear, single-use solutions," said Dennis Raffa, Senior Manager of Zero Waste World at CHEP North America.

Supplier Engagement (CHEP)

For the past decade, Diamond has sustainably shipped some of our products by partnering with CHEP, a global leader in supply chain solutions operated through pooled pallets and containers. CHEP invites others, like Diamond, to step into the positive with them to build a regenerative future. That means moving goods while doing good for the planet. It’s a vision we can get behind.

In fact, every time Diamond uses an iconic blue pallet from CHEP, rather than a one-way platform, we eliminate waste and improve efficiency. Designed to be shared, repaired, and reused, CHEP pallets and containers exemplify a circular business model, which is proven to be more sustainable. Through our partnership, Diamond reduced its environmental impacts in 2022 by the following:

So, how does this circular model work? Simply put, resources and goods create a “regenerative loop” by being recycled or reused multiple times, instead of taking a one-way ticket to the landfill. Take a CHEP pallet as an example – the pallet flows between producers, manufacturers, retailers and other partners in the supply chain, before going back to CHEP for quality control and re-distribution back into its circular flow again.

“CHEP’s circular model of containers and pallets powers the global supply chain, bringing several efficiencies and environmental benefits to businesses in comparison to linear, single-use solutions. CHEP also has numerous programs which leverage our broad view of the end-to-end supply chain. For example, our Zero Waste World program brings leading manufacturers and retailers together to eliminate empty miles, reduce material waste and other inefficiencies across the supply chain,” said Dennis Raffa, Senior Manager of Zero Waste World at CHEP North America.

At Diamond, we continually review our business practices to incorporate smart and sustainable efficiencies, ensuring our suppliers make sustainability a high priority. We’re proud to partner with companies, like CHEP, who share these values with us and seek to make a positive impact. By working with CHEP, we become a link in the chain of regeneration, building a better future for our communities, businesses and planet.

Diamond continues to work with CHEP on innovative solutions to make positive impacts on the supply chain. We are dedicated to identifying opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint on our journey to contributing to a regenerative supply chain.
