Birds, Bees & Brews Event 2026
You may know the phrase "the birds and the bees," but this event gives it a fresh twist, combining wildlife, community, and a commitment to a greener future in one unforgettable evening.
Diamond Packaging was proud to sponsor the Birds, Bees & Recycling event at Seneca Park Zoo on May 1, 2026. This community experience brought together nature lovers and eco-minded guests for an evening of hands-on recycling education, animal encounters, and socializing — all in the heart of one of Rochester's favorite green spaces.
Think you know recycling?
Our Diamond Green Team was front and center, turning sustainability into a spectator sport. Team members — and part-time game show hosts — Dennis Bacchetta, Maddy Griebel, Caitlin Kowalczyk, and Eric Longnecker ran a lively trivia challenge where contestants could win eco-friendly prizes like beeswax lip balm and wildflower seed paper by answering questions on recycling and sustainability. (Spoiler alert: everyone walked away a winner!)
Attendees came for the animal encounters and great company, stayed for the recycling challenges, and left with a deeper appreciation for the environment, and a few new tips for reducing waste at home.
A Great Success
Through corporate sponsorships, a sold-out event, and the generosity of our community, the zoo was able to raise $35,000 that will go directly to supporting the education team and conservation action programs.
Separately, $605 was raised for Snow Leopard Trust, one of the zoo's long-time conservation partners. You can learn more about the unique relationship between snow leopards and bees here: How Trees and Bees Protect Snow Leopards.
