| Marc Rubin Associates Ignis Optics Dimensional Mailer w/Sleeve |
Novelty Items, Mailers, and Marketing/Promotional Ignis Optics, IO, is a Silicon Valley start-up dedicated to developing optical sub-systems for next generation optical networks. They turned to Diamond Packaging and Marc Rubin Associates to create an eye-catching mailer that will promote their line of Ignis Optics transceivers. Additionally, all of the packaging had to be produced, filled and shipped within tight deadlines to meet the company’s marketing initiatives. Diamond Packaging developed a book-style carton with several unique features to both protect the contents as well as inform the customer. The fifth panel opens to reveal a center cavity designed to accommodate anti-static foam, which secures the contents including mechanical samples and a working transceiver module. In addition, special styrofoam filler is added for increased rigidity during shipping or handling, while a 1/2" Velcro dot is used to hold the cover closed. Attractive graphics and a die cut on the inside of the fifth panel header (to hold sell sheets) further communicate the companys message. Diamond Contract Manufacturing (DCM) provided fulfillment services including setting up the mailer, inserting foam and packing into cartons. The entire project highlighted our capabilities in design, assembly and distribution, offering customers a turnkey solution through a single-source supplier. |

| Diamond Packaging 2002 Calendar |
Best Use of Ink Over Foil Diamond Packaging designed our 2002 calendar to commemorate the United States of America and our symbols of freedom. The top header and three individual sets of backers and calendar pages are all unified by the same patriotic theme. The top header required several operational steps including 4-color process and spot color printing, foil stamping, embossing, die cutting and gluing. A unifraction die combined with foil overprinting to achieve the distinctive appearance of the flag, which changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed. Separately printing and embossing the eagle image further accentuated the headers unique appearance. The graphic on the middle and bottom backers is an image of the flag, made possible by the use of UV and aqueous coatings. A special NAPP-Coat aluminum plate was used to UV spot coat the image, including the areas surrounding the stars as well as the alternating stripes. |

| Cedar Fresh Home Products Cedar Fresh Blocks, Hang-Ups & Balls |
Best Innovation The Cedar Fresh Family of Products include a selection of 100% natural cedar products in different forms including blocks,hang-ups and balls. Visual features include attractive graphics evoking an all-natural alternative to mothballs as well as a die-cut window that effectively displays the product inside. The carton also features a "scratch and sniff" area to demonstrate the fresh scent of the product but rather than using a label incorporates a circular area that is part of the carton itself. The cedar scent is actually applied as an in-line varnish on the flexographic press, thus eliminating the label and extra cost associated with its application. This represents an ingenious approach to folding carton design in that it totally eliminates extra materials and labor from the manufacturing process. Printing on a narrow web flexo press also helped reduce costs since the carton was printed and die-cut in one operation. |

| Utica Cutlery 5 Piece Mixing Bowl Set |
Household – General Superiority According to End-Use The Utica Cutlery 5 Piece Mixing Bowl Set carton is an attractive, yet sturdy structure that stands out in the retail environment. Four color process and UV coating combine to achieve the stunning graphics which are printed on 10 pt. SBS paperboard before laminating to n-flute corrugated board. Choosing n-flute corrugated board provided the necessary strength to house the contents; since a sturdy paperboard was selected, the retailer and consumer need not worry about damage to the product during shipping or handling. Diamond Packaging also incorporated a full flap automatic bottom for strength due to the weight of the products, and for easy set-up to simplify the fulfillment process. |

| Caribbean Cookie Company Key Lime Cookies (n-flute) |
Offset Process Corrugated (Post/Direct Print) Rather than utilizing the traditional process of laminating a printed litho sheet to corrugated paperboard, Diamond Packaging perfected a method of printing directly onto n-flute. This direct print method not only saved significant time and money but also met the customers packaging requirements for strength and rigidity. Since a sturdy paperboard was selected, the retailer and consumer did not have to worry about damage to the product during shipping or handling. |
