| L’Oreal USA / Matrix Essentials – Socolor Grey’t Naturals Coverup Kit (n-flute) |
Offset Process Corrugated (Preprint) The Matrix Essentials Socolor Grey’t Naturals Coverup Kit represented numerous package considerations both structurally and graphically. Of particular challenge when producing hair color products is to achieve the closest representation of the hair color possible. Diamond Packaging chose to print on 10 pt. SBS paperboard before laminating to n-flute corrugated board. Four-color process combined with silver UV ink and a 2nd hit of black achieved accurate and visually stunning results. Choosing n-flute corrugated board provided the necessary strength needed to house the contents. Since a sturdy paperboard was selected, the retailer and consumer did not have to worry about damage to the product during shipping or handling. To simplify the fulfillment process Diamond Packaging incorporated an inner cell and automatic bottom for easy set-up. |

| The Gillette Company – MACH3 Holiday Gift Set |
Best Surface Design & Execution - Type 1 Diamond Packaging utilized a new technique to create the metallic look of the package. The vignettes and other graphic elements were specially designed to complement the foilboard substrate to achieve its unique metallic quality. Additionally, the back panel (behind the die-cut window) is hot foil stamped, thus accentuating the product even more while reducing costs by eliminating an insert used in previous versions of the carton. The overall appearance of the package and the graphics evoke high technology and performance supporting Gillettes positioning of the MACH3 as a revolutionary product that is "breaking the performance barrier"! |

| The Gillette Company – Venus Family of Cartons |
Best Family of Packages Soft rounded corners and oval shapes dominate the different structural designs, giving the packaging a unique and elegant look, representative of the fluid nature of the products. Combined with eye-catching graphics, a whole new brand identity is created, both cosmetic and feminine in nature. Different types of hot foil stamping were employed on the cartridge packs to achieve even greater eye-appeal, including combination stamping to emphasize the individual blades within a multi-level embossed illustration of the razor, giving the image form and dimensionality. Just above the razor image, foil lines radiate towards the top of the package while graduating in color from metallic silver to dark blue, thus illustrating our foil overprinting capabilities. To enhance the visual effect of the razor card, six different inks were in-line printed on one side of the plastic substrate while the logo and other design elements were stamped with specially formulated foils on the other. |

| The Gillette Company – Venus Razor |
Best Combination Packages - Type 1 After four years in development, the Gillette Company recently unveiled its new Gillette® for Women Venus shaving system. As with the MACH3 launch two years ago, they asked Diamond Packaging, a Global Packaging Alliance (GPA) member celebrating its 90th anniversary, to be part of the Gillette team to secretly design, develop and manufacture the packaging for this breakthrough product. The packaging succeeds in conveying the innovative, high quality image of the product itself while also being functional and cost effective. Several design elements and proprietary manufacturing methods were used to enhance the razor card packaging including shading, gradation, shadowing and hot foil stamping. Six different UV inks were in-line printed on one side of the APET substrate, while the logos were stamped with specially formulated foils including metallic and white, on the other. The translucent nature of the plastic substrate evokes an elegant look and feel, allowing the beauty of the razor handle to show through. The result is a visually attractive package that truly differentiates the product on the retail shelf. |

| eb5 Facial Cream |
Folding Cartons The eb5 Facial Cream carton embodies the essence of innovative package design, thus making it stand out in the crowded retail environment. Simple, yet elegant graphics are accentuated by three custom colors and UV coating to form a exceptional looking carton, both feminine and cosmetic in nature. Combination stamping (also known as foil embossing) was used to emphasize the logo, while adding both subtle and intense accents throughout the carton design. In fact, the front panel text is all foil stamped, contributing to its distinctive appearance. Other structural features include a gusseted top closure panel to eliminate any edge seams, and an automatic bottom to help simplify set-up during fulfillment. |

| L’Oreal USA / Matrix Essentials – Amplify Volumizing System Family of Cartons |
Best Innovation Diamond Packaging developed packaging that would be both functional and creative when put on display. A double carton design was chosen for two reasons: to emphasize the free product promotional offer and also to enhance its overall appeal when on display. The double carton lends itself to drawing attention to the free product inside of the right carton, in this case either Amplify™ Spritz or Amplify™ Volumizing Shampoo. Thus the package will help sell the product by increasing the customers perception of value. Another purpose of this design was to alternately display both the products and the photograph of the model on the shelf depending on how the carton was folded. This new use of a conventional package would help give the product even more impact in the retail environment. |

| L’Oreal USA / Matrix Essentials – Via Design Priming Shampoo Carton |
Health Care Products / Non Pharmaceutical - General Superiority According to End-Use Diamond Packaging created the unique angled structure to stand out on the retail shelf, without compromising the sturdiness of the carton. Because of how the product is filled (with the tube facing downward), the package balances out, resulting in a stable yet eye-catching package. Also, by incorporating both a fold-over edge closure and wrap-around window openings, various shades of purple combine with other graphic elements to add to its appeal. |

| Natural White – Dentavite Toothpaste Carton |
Health Care Products / Non Pharmaceutical - General Superiority According to End-Use The Natural White, Inc. Dentavite™ Toothpaste carton represents a breakthrough in innovative package design, making it stand out in the crowded retail environment. Graphic elements such as rich, solid colors and a subtle overall grid pattern combine with the holographic foilboard to create a truly distinctive package representative of the uniqueness of the product. The characteristics of the solid bleached sulfate (SBS) foilboard give it an appearance similar to hot foil stamping but without the extra steps involved. In addition, a print receptive lacquer coat makes overprinting much easier. |
